Travel Guide: 24 hours in Philadelphia with your Dog

Updated: Sep 27, 2019

We crossed off one more city on Teddy's bucket list, Philadelphia! Our time was limited in the City of Brotherly Love, but we still managed to do a lot of site seeing. We stayed at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel in Center City. We walked everywhere, including all the restaurants, City Hall, Rittenhouse Square, and the Wawa across the street.

These are our favorite must-do's in Philly:

Walk to LOVE Park & City Hall

Take photos of the iconic LOVE sign & City Hall with the water fountains as your back drop.

Eat Philly Cheesesteaks

Sadly, We ran out of time to get a famous Philly Cheesesteak. There are many options such as Geno's, Pat's King of Steaks & Sonny's Famous Steaks.

Find Wall Art

The best way to find wall art in the city is walking! We ran into so many without even trying.

Explore Rittenhouse House Square

There is an open park area (dogs have to be leashed), lots of restaurants with outdoor seating (weather permitting) & shopping for the humans.

Run like Rocky Bolboa up the steps of the Art Museum

You can take photos with the Rocky Statue at the base of the steps (fyi-there is always a line) and the city views from the top of the Art Museum are worth the climb up!

Eat Al Fresco

Weather permitting, there are SO many options with patio seating: El Vez, Barbuzzo, Green Eggs Cafe (Cash only!), The Dandelion & Parc to name a few. Benna's Cafe allows dogs inside!

Play at a Dog Park

You can find many small dog parks around the city but we recommend Schuylkill River Dog Run.
